I just thought I'd like to take a moment to say how much I enjoy being part of this forum. I've been on many other similar sites (not mentioning any names) and always found that there is always someone who is too ready to be rude or try and 'one-up' on any subject.

The folks here have been nothing but kind, sensitive, interesting, informative, friendly, funny, and welcoming. Cheers guys and gals, I've only been here a few weeks but so far I feel 'part of the family'.

Well I can honestly say that I don't think I'd have got so far or tried different things without the support and sometimes stiff talking toos you get here. I've never felt stupid when I've asked stupid questions and always felt that what I'm doing is as worthwhile as if I was a "real" player. Anyone who is lurking with a view to joining in should do it right now.

Oh and as an aside I feel I must mention the rugby score today 19 to England and 26 to WALES. (Sorry about that chaps couldn't help it )

Sharon, Hometown is Aberdare. I am unable to play sax at the moment, well not even to my usual rubbish standard, as my smile is so wide I can't get my RPC between my lips. Be back practising 'Land of my Fathers' tomorrow. Wonder how long before they kill me? :laugh:

Are those of us with no purported Welshness lovely enough to take this on 'England's blackest day for 20 years' etc? I like to think so - anyway, with a name like Thomas, Pete can no doubt claim or even prove Welsh ancestry. I wonder if he's known as Thomas the Horn.

My small scrap of comfort as an admittedly not-very-avid Arsenal fan is that Spurs did us a favour today, and at the expense of Man U 😛

There is no Welsh in my traceable ancestry. Travelling Irish Tinsmiths that ended up in Cornwall (basically Gypsies) who met up with some French furniture makers (Huguenots) are my ancestors.

Both the term "Gypsy" and "Huguenot" have been deemed to be derogatory at some time or other. A bit like "saxophonist" I suppose.

Back to original topic, yes - this is a great forum! I've tried many others (mainly car and bike related ones) but there are very few I stick with.

This one does the job so well, though. A great atmosphere, thanks Pete.

-just quickly... as for ancestry, my Mum's Mum was Welsh, her Dad Scottish, my Dad's Dad was English and his Mum Irish ! ! ! - does that make me British? I guess so. Makes it hard when it comes to sport though!
