All,

Went to see Art Theman at the Spin last night and he was great as usual.

He opened with some sad news. He dedicated the gig to Martin Drew (the Jazz Drummer with the New Jazz Courriers and others) who he said had just died.

Just thought I should let you all know.

This is sad news. I saw him about a month ago with the Simon Spillett Quartet. I was always amazed that he could generate a big sound but seemed to be hardly moving! Definitely one of the very best.
