i just found (as above) a buffet-crampon evette-schaeffer the same as my 'artist' tenor which i believe is a malerne-made / related product. also seen as an amati, and possibly a rampone. i think this is a collaborative effort by various manufacturers who were finding life difficult making saxes in europe.

i've been playing this tenor quite a bit, it's amazingly loud and has a good tone, but it's rather light and has had some battering (like a cod). it has a sleepy spring too. the middle malerne alto i have is increasingly popular in this house, a grainy tone somewhat related to a keilwerth, but light, and it breaks into a soulful hysteria at the top end when invited. perhaps it sounds most like a pierret. in other news i got an SML gold medal mark 1 tenor which is magnificent and even a little frightening.
