I have a curved soprano in C and have never seen another one. It is a clearly engraved Kohlert & Sohn Graslitz probably from the 1920s /30s at a guess. Clear maker engraving but no serial number just a single number that looks like a 3 on it.
I have seen some mention on the web.
1) From 2004 Peter Hurd describes an example keyed to low B stating he has never seen another example of a low or high pitch curved C sop.

2) The Jay Easton site has a picture of the same curved C from Peter Hurd and mentions it is one of only two known to exist.
3) There is a thread started by “Hadamard” stating is pride in owning the third known one marked
D. Rancilio, Milano, Esportazione (unreadable word)” Rancilio being an Italian company. Someone called “Littlefly” comments that they have a Kohlert one, probably like mine.
4) Sax on the web has a thread where Pete of Saxpics mentions he has been sent a 1930s Kohlert catalogue which lists a curved and a straight C soprano

I guess mine was the 3rd Curved C soprano from Kohlert if that is what the “3” on the body means. It has 2 very small wooden mouthpieces which came with it. I find it plays in concert at A440 really well with a Mojo 3D printed C sop mouthpiece and pretty well with a standard Yamaha 4C.
I did ask Aquilasax if they would make a removable neck curved C for the ultimate travel sax and he didn’t rule it out but sadly they closed down. Mine has a fixed neck and is the same overall length in a box as a Bb with removable neck (though thinner all around and shorter in the bell). It has it’s own compact wooden case but I have put it in a Protec curved Bb sop case as the wooden one was getting battered and wierdly the rubber seal around it suddenly did that brown appearance like ebonite mouthpieces literally in a day when I took it out and left it in the car boot for about an hour which astounded me.
Does anyone else have a curved C sop or have you seen one to suggest there are more than 5 out there?
Thanks
Edwin

Kohlert
I love getting interesting mail. A Danish reader of saxpics.com sent me a Kohlert catalog that was printed between 1930 and 1938. It's in German and the prices are in Czech Crowns. The horns listed first are the ones I called "Pre-WWII" ("1930's Models") on saxpics.com: they're split-bell key...
