A bit longer than that Mike just over 3 years now so a slow learner. But looking forward to your recordings.

My apologies, Mark, I read Rob Pealing's post above yours and mistakenly quoted his '9 months' in my reply to you. 3+ years makes a lot more sense! It doesn't sound like you're a slow learner. Although I've gradually picked up different styles of Big Band music during the last 10 years or so, I haven't improved my technique at all during that time. So as far as the instrument goes, we're on about the same level.

It is starting to make me cry for all the wrong reasons. The more I try and improve the worse it is getting. I have started producing a squeak I've never had before on sop so time to call it a day on this one, apologies, it is too sharp , not totally in time but a line in the sand can now be drawn. 🙂

This is one is on my list of ballads I already play. Its a lovely song. I’ll do what some others are doing and find a good backtrack. Most MP3 files don’t download for me from here. Not sure if it’s location related but I’ve found a much easier way now that I’ll use.

@Jeanette, Here is one from an inexperienced player. I took some time off from my homework, It is not note perfect and I lost the tone in the last 2 bars when I tried to make the last 7 beats more interesting. I would be grateful for suggestions for improvement.

So you have done another recording.
Your tone is very nice. I really liked how you added the picture of you in a kayak. I must learn how to do that because there is no way I want to show me while playing . That would scare everyone away. I’ve just got to figure out how to do this but I will.

I’ve learned this song. Today I’m going to try recording it. It will be my first recording of me I’ve ever done in my whole life so it’s exciting but hugely intimidating also.
