John Coltrane

I can't believe there isn't a coltrane topic already... maybe there is and I missed it, but I've got a question for all you die-hards. I've been tyring to find the song (not album) "Coltrane Time" which has been performed on numerous Odean Pope recordings, and credited to having been written by coltrane. However, I can't imagine coltrane writing it and not performing it... which leads me to my problem. Where is it?? I've spent hours searching discographies, and it is no where to be found. It isn't on the ALBUM coltrane time, because that would be too easy. any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Chris. There is a Coltrane thread already, entitled Trane - it's been dormant for a couple of months, and has no mention of Coltrane Time.

I've had a search, and all I've found is the album of that name, sorry I can't help you more.

Awesome, I appreciate the response. I'm still trying to find Coltrane playing it though. I'm thinking he may not have played it... but if that was the case, how did Marilyn and Odean manage to find it?

he was dead before it was written, I'm sure.. but maybe one day in the future when we are all up there in sax heaven john will give us a tune..
