All this talk of slo-gin, my mother in law, God bless her made some just befor my Daughter was born (11 years ago now) we cracked it apen at about 6.. jeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzz!!!!!!!!! what a seriously God awfull taste, absolutely vile stuff, chucked it away.

Just had a (sizeable) nip of last years damson gin. Rather good if I say so myself. Looking forward to Chrimbo a bit more now.

Just in from gig,having XXL Bombay Sapphire gin with coke,ice.No tonic water in,ARGHHHHHH.Best bit is its in my free Bombay sapphire glass set i got off them last year.

Yeah, think we may have forgotten to prick the slo's, thats vital so i've heard!

Works better if you use a sharp knife and cut a little slit into them. Just take extra care when decanting the liquor off the sloes, can cause it to be cloudy.

Not really, but it takes longer if you don't (about a year.). On the other hand you dont get the cloudiness.
