Misc instruments "I can't sing" - course; very nervous

I say that episode with my son's dog, Daisy with a sense of facetious, but she actually did that. They are like little people in a sense. It is just that I am not a good "Texan" singer doing Boot Scootin' Boogey.

Small update. Some extra fun.

I've learned, so far, 4 of the songs on Tin Whistle. (I'm less panicked for time)

- let it be. We're doing it in F and I just happen to have a F whistle... A bit shrill. Mostly by ear, but some details where wrong again the dots.
- Har du fyr - We're in B♭ (mostly in A on YouTube) and I have a whistle in B♭ - by ear. It's a bit wrong but I don't have the dots...
- Danse måt vår - We're in G - and it fits on a D whistle.... if you include a C in the 3rd register!
- Tanta til Beate - not much fun, but I have dots in. E♭, which might be what we're singing in... So sounds OK on the B♭ even with a couple of accidentals; but I might get an E♭ whistle.

We're doing En sång till livet in B... So I'm doubtful about which whistle if any?

The guy doing the course put up demo singing + piano and just piano. So I can play along with both(ish).

I feel it improves things? Can't hurt.

Well, for the record, we did the week 10 concert.

Unfortunately the recording quality was poor -but, really, no one wants to listen to the whole thing!

Another semester another go...
... Only now I have a choice:
I've enrolled on the Litt Øvet (little advance)- group, starts Monday.
But a neighbor took me to the a local, freeforall mens choir "lla blandamannskor" which meets at exactly the same time but starred last Monday. (There is a parallel ladies choir Ila Husmorkor) (Ila is the next local area over from me. Intrinsically quirky.)
The latter was more chaotic and went straight for 3 "voices" (well, sections; tenor, base1, base2 (lower)) and the songs where more obscure - harder or impossible to find scores, lead sheets etc. And the "choirmaster" makes room for people to play instruments in the closing concert...

So, safe or quirky...

So, for the record, this autumn's program:
- Leave Her Johnny - a sea shanty in English and 3 voices.
- I know Him So Sell - I'm going to struggle with this because, well, Abba
- Hymne ti Kjærleiken - an Norwegen translation of Hymne A L'Amore, Piaf. That's nice.
- Gamle Gule Plata Beach Boys - which is quite amusing

But given this is Knutsen & Ludvigsen, I would have liked

Which is very amusing.

Just thought I'd bring this up to date.

I decided to accept a neighbours suggestion and, instead of another semester of the above, I'd join the local all-commers welcome choir. All men (mostly old men), that is; lla Blandamannskor (Ila being an local area of town and the "blended mans choir". Exactly how blended varies) 4 voices: bari-base, base, tenor and tenor in tune (just 4 people). There is a sister choir; la husmorkor.

First concert is tomorrow for May/Workers Day.
Amongst the delights are
- a rendition of Mutter Beimlen by Brecht. Norwegian adaptation to Mamma Ila.
- another song about the local.
- a truly bizarre item. A Norwegian translation of Schubert/Müller's Winter Dream / Vinterreise.
And, for the workers: another Brecht and actually in German - Einheitsfrontlied.

So, for those of you keeping solidarity tomorrow:
