I can't find a teacher !!

I've just about settled in a new country, all apart from finding a teacher. I thought i'd have no problem in a city the size of Perth. One of the factors in such a big move was to widen my playing/learning opportunities ,my carrot crunching home town of Ipswich wasn't exactly a jazz metropolis, to say the least.
Anyway i've phoned or left messages or approached a lot of the top players here but it either seems they are too busy with schools/shows/life or they hear my whinging pommie accent and....' is it cos i is pommie?':?
Anyway, its not the end of the world as i pretty much could teach myself for a while to come, but i need some disciplined input, a kick up the japsy, a reality check. Ideally i would like 2 or 3 teachers. I'm thinking of buying a lesson online, or rather its on cd i think. A certain well respected player from another forum..what do people think about this..?

I did quite a while back. Perth is quite isolated on the ' other ' coast and there's only a handful of decent teachers. Oh well the search continues...
