Picked up my YTS275 for a practice, ran down a C scale, got halfway and stopped dead. G and everything below it sounded Godawful! Cue cold sweat and much anxiety! 😱
Turned out the G-sharp pad was leaking big time. After a lot of rod-tracing and head-scratching I noticed that one of the left-hand table keys seemed to be fractionally lower than normal. It seems that this was fractionally pressing on a felt and stopping the pad from fully closing.
My teacher is away at the moment and I haven't found a local tech yet... ...so I gritted my teeth and bent the offending key up a little. :x
Result? Plays like a dream!
I've got another lesson on Monday so I'll get my teacher to have a look and make sure I haven't loused something else up in the process :? but I'm up and running again anyway.
