Mfox and Nachoman,
I really like the sound of (i.e. what I'm reading above) the Dukoff D. I have just looked it up on Sax.co.uk and the description says
"One of the classic mouthpieces - big, bright, punchy. The sound of David Sanborn, Candy Dulfer and a lot of 1960-70s soul, funk and the like. Great for work with amplified bands and anywhere where a lot of staccato, percussive playing is needed. To bring out the best in them try a Rovner Eddie Daniels or BG Metal Jazz Revelation ligature for extra oomph & ease of blowing."
This is just what I am looking for as I play in a 9 piece old school funk-rock band. I am using a Otto Link 6 at the moment with a BG Rev Jazz Lig.
In your opinion is there much difference between the two? Which has the funkier, rockier, louder tone? I spent quite alot on the Otto Link Metal, and like it alot. I would be willing to expand my mpc collection if I thought the Dukoff would bring a noticably different quality.
I am not in a position to test out different pieces, but might take a punt on the blind if you recommend it.
