Nice and strong with milk and sugar in a mug!

The Dutch have different tea-drinking habits. They have:

- much weaker strength tea-bags (and many Dutch people use 1 tea bag 2 or 3 times for different cups of tea!)

- a much wider variety of tea bag flavours than I've come across in the UK; including Rooibos (Red Bush), Green and Green/Lemon, and a whole host of fruit-flavoured tea bags

I knew that my daughter - who lives in Amsterdam - was coming round this afternoon and that she usually drinks (Dutch) tea. I keep a stock of different 'tea flavours' for occasional visitors. But yesterday, I suddenly wondered 'how long can you "keep" tea without it losing its taste'? The answers (according to googled websites) varied between 1 and 2 years, depending on the tea sort.

So this morning, I quickly threw out my 'stock of tea bags' dating from 2018 to 2022 and bought some 'fresh ones' <img src="data:image/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%22%20viewBox%3D%220%200%2064%2064%22%3E%3Ctext%20x%3D%2250%25%22%20y%3D%2250%25%22%20text-anchor%3D%22middle%22%20dominant-baseline%3D%22central%22%20font-size%3D%2254%22%3E%F0%9F%99%82%3C%2Ftext%3E%3C%2Fsvg%3E" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="22" height="22" alt=":)" title="Smile :)" data-smilie="1"data-shortname=":)" />.

We've had a couple of 'postponed visits'. First due to (my) 'flu in January and then (my) sudden rash 2 weeks ago that just might possibly have been 'Shingles'. With the risk that - if it did turn out to be 'Shingles' - my daughter might catch chickenpox. So we decided to cancel until 'my rash' was checked out by my 'general practitioner'. Even she wasn't 100% sure but said that whatever the cause, it was no longer contagious and would heal by itself. Which it has.

So it was wonderful to finally meet up face-to-face with my daughter. And to take a long walk together alongside a nearby river in the glorious warm, sunny Spring weather we're having. Just in a shirt with a T-shirt underneath. .And being able to sit together on a warm, sunny cafe terrace and drink cappuccinos together.

Thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon!
