Conn 10M-Some issues

I just bought a 1961 Conn 10M from a SOTW member. I had the horn shipped directly to my instrument tech to do some general work (couple pads, general regulation). The tech has informed me:

1. Many of the very small Conn adjustment/lock screws are missing, causes the action to be a little off.

2. Neck is somewhat "bumpy" and may have been the victim of other damage. This is a double socket neck.

Otherwise...keys are in good shape, most pads are fairly new. No dents anywhere but the neck.

I'm having my tech put about $100 worth of work into it, and I'm picking it up this weekend to decide what I want to do with it (dump it or keep it).

- Does anyone know where I could buy replacement screws? (the little itsy bitsy ones)

- What are my options as far as the neck goes? Do I have to stick with the double-socket, or could the horn be modified for other necks? Will only a 10M neck work, or are there other models I might have luck with?

Go to http://www.mcmaster.com/ and do a search for "Set Screws." I'm not sure if the flat heads are small enough, but the socket heads seem like they would be. Anybody know specifically what'd be the best selection?

If your tech can't source or make the screws, find one who can.

Mine can, but I'm doing the horn on a rush order from him, and he just doesn't have enough around, since he's done a lot of Conn work lately.

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
