Cleaning a Baritone

Silly question time people . . .

When I eventually get a Baritone Sax, how do I swab it out? I know it has a drain hole but I do not see any Baritone pull-through swabs for sale anywhere. Is this because you cannot actually feed a pull-through into the curling tube perhaps.

I said it was silly question time. :S

Here are some links to swabs/neck savers for baritones:

I custom make my own 100% silk swabs for all my horns, and have a larger one with an extended cord to drop through the bend in the necks of my Baritone horns, but these products do basically the same thing, save for the bendy neck saver or "Shove it" type swabs, which aren't actually drawn through the entire bend/body/bow/bell of the horn.

Cheers.

Cleaning a bari? Never heard of such a thing!

Seriously, though, most of the condensation from blowing get caught at the top end of the sax, from which it can drain through the hole. Any left behind doesn't matter as much as on other saxes, as there are no pads in that part of a bari.

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
