I feel this is the best I can do with my A901, minus some errors here and there. I think some vintage saxes are more flexible in terms of their action, even though it seems more old-fashioned. I can't fully get used to this horn! Even though I'll be getting a Walstein soon, I think. 🙂

thanks... I'm just saying there is something about the feel of the Yani which my fingers just don't completely lock into, especially for large interval jumps. I am getting a Walstein soon enough and everything I've read about them sounds like its going to perform better for me. I guess no sax is perfect but my Buescher Big B tenor and Martin Committee alto had incredibly fast action. For example, if I want to make a quick jump from a mid Eb to a high D its kind of hard on the Yani. Also the palm keys are a bit low and I just find the feel rather impersonal and harder to "dig into." On the plus side, I like how the notes sound distinct and it has a pretty open and big sound. I could live with it but my A901 isn't in the best shape (pads, etc.) so I'll probably play the Walstein and keep the Yani for backup. I really, really hope the Walstein ends my search and gives me what I'll be happy with in a horn. The low price doesn't scare me off.

I know this should probably be in a different thread! Oh well... I guess I just feel like my horn is limiting my playing...

It's not my horn that limits my playing, it's my bl****y fingers and brain :cry:

Let us know how you enjoy the Walstein OneCat, I'm thinking about trying a tenor.
