Saxophones C Melody Saxophones

I restored a 1922 Conn C-mel a few years ago and it was "warble -sensitive" to the MPCs used. No big deal though, there were several MPCs that minimized the issue/ made it go away.
The funny thing is Dr Caravan designed his C mouthpiece on a Conn with micro tuner. He’s a Classical player.
Have you tried your Weibster on the Conn ?

It’s not limited to Conns just IMHO the most common. Like a handful of players have no problem blowing a horn, and yet the owner can’t make it work. Wine / champagne cork or mouthpiece cap in the bow often helps.
Also look up “motorboating”.
It can eliminate the warble or motorboating but it also makes the horn sound like there is an old sock stuck inside. Pick your battles...

I've
@Greychatter here’s a video sample of a Selmer New York C using a Vandorn T55 mouthpiece. Notice how far he has the mouthpiece pushed in. This is most likely a Conn build.

Thanks for posting... I will post a pic of the mouthpiece. Right now, I'm trapped on the phone in a two day bizness teleconference funfest. stay tuned....

I know next to nothing about early Buescher mpcs... anxious to hear your thoughts @PigSquealer.

It's C soprano mouthpiece

But the set up was sold with mouthpiece box in wood,
The original mouthpiece by Adolphe sax haven't plenty thing as the open, the materials was only wood,

I haven't original Adolphe sax c melody but i know and i see the original c melody sax mouthpiece, it's globally same thing but the tall are adapted for c melody,

But same structural mouthpiece.

@Greychatter your mouthpiece & lig look consistent to a Pan American kit. This is SN# P19xxx
A 1916 prototype maybe? Pan American production began in late 1919 or 1920. Of course it could have just been a Pan American replacement the owner picked up. No way to be sure it’s original. I have an Eagle for my alto; it sits unused in my gear bag for good reason.

Absolutely no way to tell for sure. Your guess is as good as mine. Best any of us can do is observe. I photograph and record “as discovered”. Ask the seller of any known history. Take notes. Try to match to others.
This below is Conn C SN#55xxx as found. If we all keep comparing notes. Discovered consistencies will lead the way.

I’m guessing you keep the alto Conn Eagle in the case as an air freshener 🤪

Anyone have a record or pictures of what mouthpiece was discovered with a Martin or Couturier C ?

I have zero information on Martins.

Most Couturier’s I have or have seen have a maroon Holton Perfected mouthpiece. Oddly Couturier was bankrupt by October 1923 and the Holton Perfected mouthpiece didn’t arrive until early 1924. So ??
