Just looked him up... Incisive toneAnother thought, when I hear people on the café I can't help it but quite often other players come into my head, on this occasion it was Billy Harper

I live near to Melton and did indulge in some Pork Pie (not for breakfast though)..Every time this thread pops up I can only think of Melton Mowbray, and the disappointing fact that not once over the Christmas period did I have any Pork Pie for breakfast! 🙁
Thanks for that, you have a very pure Paul Desmondesque tone,. He does do a version, I'll post it when I'm next on a computer, and many thanks for all your efforts on this thread

I thought it was probably a CD he made very late on at the request of the record company, I did think the breathy bit at the beginning was unusual. he's not someone I really listen to but it was listening with my eyes and not my earsInternet can be a real minefield! I guess that's very clever. Mixmatching titles that lead you to believe it's one thing that it's not. Smells like a scam to me.
But there's only one Alice Psychedelic! There’s probably more than one Paul Desmond!

I still can't fathom how the chords fit the backing track, try as I might. I've tried playing tonic notes, but simply can't get anything to chime or rhymeI have created revised notes and backing track based on the version that @rhysonsax found.
Why don't you try playing along with the original version, when I hopefully get some time I would like to try playing alongside the Dave Holland recordingI still can't fathom how the chords fit the backing track, try as I might. A click intro would help identify exactly where the first chord starts and I would listen and learn from there, But at the mo I can't even pin down the start of the first bar! Very frustrating to have this great resource for a really interesting track without being able to get even a toehold!
I need my ears cleaned out
