now also restarting sax. I played a bit a while ago, but the band folded - never really started, to be honest, beyond fairly serious rehearsals - and I put it all on hold, which was a bit daft really since I'd just got a lovely YTS-62.

So, starting back again, and having the same old trouble building the embouchure. Can't manage more than 15 mins at the moment.

Got a Walstein Alto in the loft, bought a while ago, which I also intend to work my way up to.

There are some great embouchure exercises in Larry Teal's The Art of The Saxophone. Lots of other good stuff there as well.

Hi Stevie!

Commonly it is advisable to use a proportionately smaller tip mouthpiece on Alto. I would suggest something in the 6/6* range. Reeds at 2.5 should be fine.
