I tried the tests in the early hours of yesterday morning, and after a large G&T, so wasn't too surprised that I found them less than user-friendly, but more so that I am apparently cr@p at pitch identification and rhythm, but moderately good at 'visualisation' !!
I sort-of instinctively 'got' that the phrases could be represented as some of the groups of symbols, although some defeated me.
I resolve to have another go when I am rested and sober
😀
I did some similar tests a while ago , on, I think, the BBC website ... the results were considerably more encouraging and quite different from these!
(I'll try to find the URL)
Later.... I found the test "How Musical are You?" here:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/labuk/experiments/musicality/
But, sadly, the test is no longer available to try, although you can read a bit about it.
The interesting thing about my results was that, in summary, they suggest I have a very good
musical ear and a good memory for a tune and rhythm, but that music doesn't play a very important part in my life.
I had always thought the first to be true, and, on reflection, realise that the last is, too. I don't listen to music nearly as often as many people do, and it doesn't 'move' me all that much!
(Probably why I don't practise enough!)
