Lol I was trying mouthpieces in Woodwind Exchange and mentioned I had chipped my Reed and they mentioned a pro, forget who, who had been in and was playing with a very chipped Reed

Rico have recently upgraded their Orange Box brand. You could try a box of those, or Rico Royals in strength #2.

Sounds about right.

I rarely chip reeds and if I do I bin them cos I've got plenty.. Beginners chip loads of reeds so binning them could end up very expensive. They usually have to get pretty bad before they'll stop playing and the one in the picture is nowhere near that state.
