Mouthpieces Absolute Mouthpieces News

just to let you know that we have put on offer the resin soprano sax mouthpieces, to end the series, at a very attractive price ....
if someone wants to make a nice Christmas gift is the right time.
From next year we will build a different model.
Take a look: Sopranor fine serie

Are these pieces bright or dark, how did the players find them when they played them on the passaround?

Thanks in advance.

That's a great price for the soprano pieces. To be honest, the pass-around was so long ago for me that I can't remember what the soprano piece looked like. Was that soprano piece the same as the one pictured on the Absolute website and where are those grooves ?

They go from the end of the window to the bore, on the sides. Quite difficult to explain, and probably also to show in a picture.

if I remember correctly the pass-around mouthpiece is the first series, longer than that on my website, where I added a picture where you should see the grooves

Thanks for all of your input, would you say these resin sopranos were as dark as a Otto Link TE HR,thats the sound concept that i would like,i have the brighter sounding pieces already.
Actually darker than a modern TE, from what I remember.
Haven't you done the passaround?

The resin soprano has a different sound quality than a modern Tone Edge. At least to me the TE I tried sounded a little bit hollow and dark. The Absolute has more presence and has a broader sound at least to me. I wouldn't say it is darker than a TE, it is different and it is capable of a dark sound. Maybe it has to do with my general dislike of TE on all sizes of saxes I have tried them on. I would choose the Absolute over any TE.

Thanks for your input, the problem i find with TE's and not just on sop is that they vary so much, about 15 years ago i had a fantastic TE on sop a 70's vintage which was dark, mellow sounding then i sold it when i moved to a brighter sound,oh how i wish i had kept it,just hoping the Absolute can come close.

I play a slant TE replica (ish).
Tuning is not easy, though.

There is a huge design difference between slant and modern TE: slant is large chamber, modern is pea-shooter chamber.

Not ever tried a slant but have had a few 70's,80's and modern TE's but the 70's one was great one and have regretted selling it ever since.
That could have been a rare oval chamber... Like Steve Lacy's.

That brings to mind the old Absolute aluminium model...

Hello everyone, I haven't written here for a long time, but I wanted to confirm that we are healthy and operational, we are currently offering our anodized aluminum series at very advantageous prices, while stocks last.
This should also beat any import taxes, as well as free shipping
Soon also news for tenor.
All the best
