I'm a terrible sucker for metal mouthpieces. And I see this comes with a solid looking lig

soprano and clarinet

It's handsome ligature and the contact is obviously as minimal as you can get but doesn't this leave the reed vulnerable to slipping sideways?

[Absolute]

it is a ligature that fits the reed and can hold it very tightly.
There are also two points of contact on the mouthpiece and the rubber which remains very firm.

What happened to Absolutesax? Their homepage is suspended and the profile here says out of business. Are they really gone? I still play Absolute on my alto and soprano, having a lot of fun. It would be a pity.

Looks like it.
I had a message exchange with @Absolute and was really saddened by the news.
Still hoping he will eventually change his mind and have a special request about his latest tenor piece, hoping he could start making things again

[Jimmymack]

This is a shame, I could have been tempted by one of those ligs.
