Owners expose their cats naughty antics on social media | Daily Mail Online

Yeah yeah the DM save it for someone who gives a monkey´s. But, here is a piece for cat lovers and haters alike. The cat lovers, possibly Targa, I am not sure, jury is still out, will like most of it. Had herself in stitches and laughing out loud this morning, which is good cos she needs a good laugh. Cat haters can get all mean and crotchety and rumble about how they have been right all along and why does that creature from next door keep doing the whoopsies in my garden?

Well, its cos they got you figured.

Enjoy (or dont)
Mike

The one about visitors is a classic human error. You don't reach down to pet a cat you've just met; it will see it as a threat. You extend the hand at the cat's eye level and let it come to you if it's so inclined. Most of them can't resist checking you out. They're really very interesting creatures once you learn to read them a bit, but it's harder to do than with dogs.

Coprophagia is considered by some vets to be normal acceptable behaviour in dogs and may be an attempt to rebalance their normal bacterial gut flora. There have recently been quite a number of experiments with human faecal transplants (FMT) in an effort to alleviate IBS and other gastro intestinal complaints, and I'm not talking a load of old crap either. Regards Al

This is a bit of a touchy subject because it relies on the owner and as we know, some people are decent, responsible pet owners and others are not.
Some of us who have cats train them from an early age to use a litter tray, we get them neutered or spayed, microchipped and up to date with their immunisations. Then there are other people who don't care. My neighbour who grows vegetables has put rubber spikes all along the fence which is their property, to prevent cats from the area defecating on his garden. One of my cats never leaves my garden and the other only seems to stay close too now. He tried to jump onto the spiked fence and immediately leapt back from it awkwardly and fell very badly. It was lucky that he didn't break his leg. He limped for a long time. These neighbours scream, throw water, stones.... Some people fire air rifles.
I know all this so I have trained both not to go out of the front door and have done my best to keep them in our own garden. What other people do, is often not as diligent.

I have been a lawn owner and a cat owner and a dog owner for a good number of years now. In fact I am exactly the old fool that I probably sound like right now. I have never found back end emissions from cats or dogs on my lawn, my dogs and cats or any others. I did have a canny little ferret for a good number of years, he travelled the globe with me (bits of it anyway) and even he wasnt a poop criminal. He did steal walnuts but what the heck, I have stolen much worse than that. So while I do fully accept that some folk have experienced stuff on the lawn, I do have trouble thinking that it is enough of a problem to wreck your day. Apologies sincerely if I am wrong, but as said, I am not just a cat/dog owner and lover, I am a house and lawn proprietor too.

I must admit to some wickedness in posting this one, I remember a heated thread some years ago on this subject.
Sorry, I had indigestion. when I did it.

Its Saturday, I am in the garden with the cats and dogs pruning the shade trees and the fig trees and the walnut tree and the cats and dogs are running around and I feel FAB. Have a great weekend,
Mike

It's extremely unlikely that faeces on a lawn are from a cat, the reason they use the flower beds is soft loose soil to scrape before and after defecating. A lawn isn't a suitable surface.
Perhaps those who have said that cats are responsible would provide photos either action shots, I checked that carefully for a typo, or of the evidence for identification as feline or other. It is possible that any feline faeces on the lawn have been thrown over the fence by neighbours because you know how filthy most humans are.

@Alice @jeremyjuicewah I have to admit playing Devil's advocate here. I am a current dog owner. I have in the past owned, and loved, cats. The highest count was 2 of each. It was strange that while cats were present in the household there was nary a trace of unmentioanables in the lawn borders etc. Neither were there any other foreign cats straying around the property.
Now the felines of the neighbourhood seem take delight in torment my two best pals walking the 2 metre surrounding fence with utter contempt or sleeping / sunbathing on the garden shed. Also performing the unmentionables when no one is around.
Maybe older and wiser it no longer bothers me, life is too short to get angry, cross or worked up about it. It is annoying but accept it, clean up and let it go. I really wouldn't waste energy shouting being unkind or tormenting felines disturbing my karma in the process.
Strangely I was born in the year of the tiger it has always been my favourite wild animal.

Europa are doing essential maintenance on the mast. I think this will mean tightening the guy ropes and turning the dish a little with a big hammer. So I have a connection then I dont and so on. Three times apparently. Indigestion is under control, thank you Gaviscon.
