Sue is out at her german class so out comes the sax. A real chance to give it some welly, and blow me down sideways the pad has dropped off the crook. Any one at home to give me advice about
sticking the bounder back on?

The octave key pad?

Should really be stuck on with melted shellac as you can always reheat to remove, but in an emergency a blob of evostick does the trick

Use blu-tak to stick it back in with. Trouble is though, it might leave the pad a little more proud of the cup and throw the regulation out.
A very simple, non-damaging temporary repair is to pop the pad back in the cup, get it aligned as best you can and then wrap a bit of clingflim over the whole lot, pad and key cup. No fuss, no mess and hardly any change of pad thickness.
It'll work until you get around to having the pad refitted/changed.

Don't let the drummer anywhere near the scissors though...unless they're the rounded end type.

Hey Pete, how about a quick fix thread "Emergency repairs on the go" It could consist of a "How I got out of that one using nothing but an elastic band and some chewing gum!" type thing :laugh: :laugh:
