Hiya, i have just bought a trevor james classic soprano. It came with a nice case and some problems. Initially two pads (G and G#) were catching and i had it sorted in the shop.

Now, the middle G gurgles ... wonder if this is a common problem for sop. Could it be a leak? There is no problem to play the low G.

I will bring it back to the shop, just see if you guys have any comment on this problem.

I am not sure if this is a common problem with soprano. Extreme slow response for anything below low G. The resistance is not too bad once the sound is produced.. Just that it is difficult to "kick start" the sound...

I bought one yamaha 4c yesterday and it is even worst... so i still stick to the original TJ mpc...

That shouldn't be common for any horn and very much sounds like you have one or two pads not quite closing properly.
If it won't work on a 4C then something's very wrong indeed.

I'd recommend you take it back for a check-up, or have it evaluated by an independent repairer.

Regards,

Thanks for the comment...

I am not sure if some pads are not properly closed... it only happen when i play low notes... it is perfectly fine one octave up...
