Guess what? Jane, the kids and I are playing in the proms this year. :D

We have to goto a workshop to learn the music at The royal college of music for a few hours then its of to the Natural History Museum to perform what we learnt.

Now I'm sure they normaly play at the Royal Albert Hall but they told us the natural history museum.........................mmmmmmm....................;}:D How do they know?

Its part of 250th aniversary celebrations of Darwin and the family orchestra string of events and is open to all family members of any ability for free. Just look for the Proms website and sign up places went really quick last year so if youre thinking of doing it be quick.

Col.

PS We might be on telly !

Did this at Brighton in 2007, practice on a couple of Sundays then played a 10 or 12 minute piece before the BBC Symphony Orchestra played a family concert in the Dome Theatre. Great fun, learnt a lot.

Open to all and every standard. Teachers were from the Symphony Orchestra and really helpful, led by a flute player (Lincoln Abbots IIRC?).

Shame they haven't run it in Brighton since.
