Hi, folks! I may be new here but not to music, and I've had the pleasure of speaking with many of you over the years elsewhere, virtually and (occasionally) in person. My band has been more active this year than in any year since the pandemic, about which I've been thrilled, and we've been playing periodically at Monks Jazz Club in Austin, which provides wonderful audio/video livestreaming and recording. So, this being a saxophone-centric forum, here are a couple clips of my own shredding over a couple of my funk-fusion compositions, one old and one new. If you're curious about anything gear-related or music-related, by all means ask! Cheers.

Monks was kind enough to post a full cut from our most recent show there on their YouTube channel! This was a fun one. The fantastic Charles Reid stepped in on drums in place of our regular guy, Daniel Watson... Charles and Daniel are both truly special drummers and I'm spoiled rotten getting to play with them so frequently over the years.

That's a great listen. Tight, exciting

I'd pay good money to see your outfit live

Not sure the keyboard is anything other than distracting... As an audience member, even watching the vid, I can't relax into the music when...
1. Worrying you'll bash the sax against the board
2. Listening out to hear if the flipping from board to sax and back is affecting your timing on each
3. Knowing that you'll have to abandon keys anyway once you get into fast passages on the sax, and wondering if that'll affect the overall band dynamic positively or adversely
4. The optical barrier of the keyboard reduces your stage presence

On that basis I'd request a 10% refund on the admission price; and all drinks consumed while you're tinkling the ivories, half price, thank you

Duly noted, Ivan. 🙂 I'm playing keyboard on half the set, so I'm afraid it must stay! And rest assured, I've been dual-wielding these instruments for a very long time. Consider it a parlor trick when I magically avoid the keyboard with the horn.
