A little set back today. The sax is back, beautifully polished and gleaming. BUT whereas it went away dent free it now has 4 dings in the bell and 7 in the bow. I think these have happened as the polisher has been working on it, but who knows!

So, a little dent work to add to the re-pad.

Ho-hum....

:(

Many thanks for your moderation. I don't understand why some members throw insults at others they don't even know?

it’s called “ internet” :) a game that some like to play......throw ****e around and, apparently, enjoy the process.

I prefer polite humor >:)

Just spoke to Colin, the metal polisher, who is horrified to hear of the dents and has offered to waive his charges. He's a good chap who has done exemplary work for me over the last 5-6 years so I'll put it down to experience. I've sent him some photos of the worst ones, as under...

The rest are similar to these. Annoying but should be sortable...

Ow!! That is a bad one on the engraving. Dawkes would do them while you wait I reckon.

Was that slice in the first pic and the engraving definately on it before because he`d have to have been pretty careless to have caused that re-finishing it (though easy to do in a gig) .. shame as it looks lovely . as James said, Dawkes etc should be able to easily remove the dings

a good shop will take care of those and iron them out, very likely, in an invisible way.

What do you reckon on Geoff being able to remove them? He did some on your Martin I recall?

The scratch and the off-engraving part of the 2nd scratch I think I could hand polish out once the dents are gone? The part in the engraving may then "disappear" to the eye.

Damn Shame, I hope you manage to get it out . I`ve got an 1860s Higham Peashooter Slide Trombone with a few in I`d like to get removed too
