Hedgehogs are regarded as a pest in New Zealand - an introduced species. To top it off when also have 70 million Australian pests in New Zealand commonly called possums...

Not to mention the 'introduced pest species' of which there are five million causing the most damage to the country - humans.

I was very surprised to see one in our garden a few months ago, July or so. I can't figure how it got there as we have walls all around, although one is partly down... So that may be where it came from. But it was on the very opposite side of the garden.
1. They can climb walls and, incidentally, swim. But probably not ride bikes or drive cars.
I had no idea hedgehog poo could be so agile

Bottom line: Domestic cat poop shouldn't be over-stinky, a little larger than hedgehog poop perhaps nevertheless similar in consistency to all other wild animals, from elephant to man to mouse and so on. If it is then it's a result of false nutritrion.
Faeces of 'wild animals' varies widely in appearance and consistency.
'Wild mammals' would have been closer but still not accurate.

Pre-human times the only land mammals in New Zealand were a couple of small bats. The Maoris came along in the 11th, 12th or 13th (a bit of debate here because they don't have a written history) century and brought with them dogs and pigs, and of course you Poms turned up in the late 18th century with all sorts of pests with that Yorkshire man Jimmy Cook and we've been dealing with it ever since...so much for the great British Empire...

Erinaceidae family consists of hedgehogs and moonrats.
Shrews and moles are in two different families.

Never heard of a Moonrat!

Mooncat, of course..
