Playing the saxophone Pretty Tunes

I ran across this tune on 8notes and found this beautiful rendition on YouTube. It is Grieg's Kuhreigen (Cow Keeper's Tune).

We have this print from the late 19th century that we inherited from my wife's parents. The lithographer seems to have added the little girl in the center from David Bandley's "Sheep and cattle bathing in the river". It goes very well with the tune.
I hope you enjoy the music while viewing the print.

Back in '32, my Mom and Dad would cut out from High School, take the train from Coney Island, go up to Harlem and were always invited into the clubs to dance.
One of the songs they loved.

OT. So your parents obviously lived in Brooklyn. Did you grow up there? Just wondering as I'm a Flatbush boy myself.

They left Brooklyn soon after High School.
I was born on a small island.
Between the Hudson River and East River, which is really a tidal estuary.
Peter Minuit and a Lenape Princess, were my ancestors.
True story. 🙄
Might be up North, next year, close family in Manhattan, Hamptons, and the Boston area.
Maybe some studio time with the young ones. Latin and Country Western might be in their future. One can only hope. 😻

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
