Oh, the hours I spent, often late into the darkest hours of night learning and practicing calligraphy.
The blots and the blotting paper. Washing my inky fingers and nibs.
Later learning to to draw a perfect curve freehand with a Rapidograph.
And then came hot lead, Letraset, and photo-typesetting machines.
And what have we got now? For the most part - Instant digital visual dirrahoea.
Designers who think Aral is a gas station and couldn't tell a Times from a Garamond to save their lives.
