Miscellaneous Old Saxophone Advertisements or Case Emblems ?

Old saxes and cases can give us lots of saxophone history. Some things I found in a (Dolnet Bel-Air tenor -47) case I bought for 20 years ago. Beside the sax and the case there was also the original receipt from the shop, an old CZ high baffle mouthpiece, a handy screwdriver set from Japan, Saxoil from Shirley, Surrey, England and reeds from LOA in an elegant "flip box like" box. Often I could decide what kind of music the saxophonists were into according from songlits.

Finding time capsules is always fun. I love the ones with handwritten store receipts. The exact date, product and price. I love seeing the packaged goods.

This was inside the case of a 1950's King Cleveland tenor that I once owned.

H & H is still in business with six stores in Texas. Two in Houston but not at Caroline St.
The link below has two store chains. Brook Mays and H & H.
Yeah, Crook Mays bought them out some years ago.

I remember very well the old Caroline St. location. That's where I bought the Dukoff mouthpiece I still have (and use VERY infrequently, if I get a rock and roll gig). It looks like only suburban locations exist for H&H today.

Hard one to date. This was the second style case badge. I’m thinking after April 1922 along with the change of bell engraving. Still working on this.
I have not seen any badge with “Chicago” like this.

From 1917 to 1919 I haven’t seen any badge or inside foil emblem. Late 1919- early 1920 has this style with “Elkhorn”. This style below continues until ??

The inside foil emblem below appears around 1922 and continues to at least 1930. Note the two locations and slight change in artwork. Green is 1922, purple is 1928 examples.

Two “Elk” examples below have no background brown color like yours.
This from 1928.

Much of the old advertising can be viewed in the Music Trade Review publication. The archive has been digitally scanned. NAMM provided generous grants to scan the archive.
The subject search engine work reasonably well.

We currently have 2046 issues with 97,977 pages of this publication online!
The Music Trade Review was published out of New York from 1878 until at least 1956. It apparently suspended publication with the January 1933 issue. Publication was resumed under different management sometime between 1937 and 1940. Our online library contains issues from 1880 to 1933, and from 1940 to 1954. Additional years are available for review at a number of libraries. Search www.worldcat.org for more information about the holdings of other libraries, or ask your local librarian for assistance.

Wonderful!
Here is one from 1923. I'd like to find a deal like this one! I didn't realize how easy it to play the sax! Why didn't I start earlier so I could have enjoyed it even more!
There’s your advertisement announcement for Buescher’s support to dealers.

Also the press release from Couturier announcing production of C SOP & Baritone !
