Sometimes good.
I sold my The Martin Medalist tenor a few months ago and .......what can I say.... I’m missing it. It had tone, looks, ergos and was easy and cheap to service and cost me less than I sold it for.
I’m sure we all have one we sold or gave away that we shouldn’t have.
Which one and why?

Having the same debate now about letting my conn 10m go..i havent picked the conn up for a while as everyone says its easier to learn on a new sax..she isnt the prettiest sax out there and has had a life but she is the only one that felt special when i picked her up...I have a tj raw which gives me everything i need musically and is a great sax but she isnt the Conn...i also have a 6m that I dont play much fantastic condition / player but i prefer the tenor.. a man with any common sense would sell the 10m and 6m but obviously thats not me...

I can only think of 5 I've got rid of out of several dozen.

I would quite like the C melody back but I can live without it.

I would quite like a another Wurlitzer piano. I didn't sell that, just wore it out with 20 years of regular gigging and binned it.

My King Cleveland and I got together in 1970. Oh, the fun times we had for four years. We even flew to Toronto back in 1973. But then I put her away quietly until my son took her away from me for an entire year back in 1996. Then, once again, she was put on a shelf until 2019 when she beckoned me to take her out on the town. We've been together ever since and are making beautiful (?) music and have pledged to never again part company.
I've probably invested hundreds more in it than its value over the past few years.
But I know how difficult it must have been for my folks to lay out the cash back then for a brand new instrument and I just couldn't ever find the heart to sell or give it away. My hope is that some day it will be needed by one of my grandkids. I'd be proud to give it to any of them.

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
