Okay check it out. Am7 E7 Am7 E7/A B7. Right away you got that E7./ A that indicate to you that you can do a suspended type of movement movement which means you can play a A note all the way through. And that B sevens I guess they want the bass player to walk straight up to the B from there. So you just follow him .... G is the 7th for the A and the third for the E. So you can do a G And A trill .
with respect, its a bit of a confusing post. Im sure you wouldnt want to leave folks confused.
1)
We are here talking in this thread about SATIN DOLL.
I dont know which progression you are talking about above, but it isnt Satin Doll.
ie the first two bars
In tenor pitch it starts : Em7 A7 - Em7 A7
In alto pitch it starts : Bm7 E7 - Bm7 E7
In concert pitch it starts : Dm7 G7 - Dm7 G7
2)
I agree with your point that there is an E7 in the first 2 bars, if you are thinking alto. but your Am7 E7 is wrong, and confusing.
3)
in addition, in your Am7 E7, the 3rd of the E chord would be G sharp.
Not the G natural of the Am7 chord. ie not the continuity that you are suggesting
why would you suggest a trill between a root and a 3rd? interesting concept.

"And that B sevens I guess they want the bass player to walk straight up to the B from there. So you just follow him"
Can you expand on what we may do to "follow him " ?
