Now this was a real emergency

I got it back this evening. Wisely, I asked Rob if he had tested it, and he had.

Five days without playing and my mouth has gone !! Still, all seems well. No more bum notes, and for 64 quid he cleaned it, replaced a couple of dicky pads and the cork, and did all the necessary bedding and tweaking.

For the next few days I'll need Radian-B on my jaw. >.<

Thanks for the feedback. I agree with Tom, it sounds a good job. I'm going to ring him today and see if I can book it in. I'm up Clydach way on Saturday morning and it's only just up the road to him. I've hardly played at all this past week  Not just because of time but I know it's not playing well, I sound worse than I did 6 months ago which is a tad disheartening even if you know (hope) its the sax and not you 🙁

I do need servicing, but that's a whole different issue !! 😛

Played it this morning - and it is LOUD. All the way up and down, a far sweeter, cleaner, and more punchy sound than I was getting before.

Well worth it.

I rang him yesterday and spoke to his wife as he works during the day. I'm going to ring him this evening and I'm hoping to take it up there tomorrow so fingers crossed.

Strangely enough it seems to play worse after warming up, you would think it would be the other way round :?
