My sax bit me!

I was wiping down my sax after playing this morning being very careful as always not to snag the cloth on the ends of springs etc when I snagged my finger instead. :cry:
I left a chunk of skin from the side of my right ring finger on the pointy end of a spring and got blood on my cloth.

I guess my sax was wreaking it's revenge for something I've inflicted upon it. :S

Youzers thats real pain that is, the springs are evil because they are soooo sharp and pointy, ooooh dats nasty!

Hmmm - your fault for cleaning it! :-D

I recommend full protective gear (helmet with face mask and goggles, cricket box, surgical and cotton gloves and long Q-tips covered with cotton).

I did the same with my flute a few years ago- sliced open my thumb on one of it's springs! totally unexpected....

I've had mine punch me in the mouf a coupla times...not goodfor the chops!

When it's had enough abuse from my playing it blocks up, and the mouthpiece goes all soft and floppy. So then I stop before I get bitten!

I've had the tenor swing on the sling and the mouthpiece smack me in the mouth a few times. The tip of a Lawton does a very efficient job in slicing open a lip.
