Maintenance!? stand.

Anyboy have, or know of a holder/device that is suitable for working on a sax... oiling, cleaning etc?

It feels very awkward to me having it balanced on my knee whilst doing these things and a standard stand doesn't cut it.

I'd actually like to make something, but I can't figure the best way to grip the sax.

Look at the sax.co.uk web site, www.saxophones.co.uk They have stands and Petes main website has a recommendation (for a more expensive item). Don't know about Pete's recommendaton but sax.co seem very helpful and professional and are mainly mail order so good response times I think. Amazing showroom too (well, it amazed me).

Hi Robert,

Had a look at both sites, didn't see anything.

I probably worded it wrong, I'm not looking for an ordinary sax stand... I have those. I'm talking along the lines of a 'maintenance' stand/device that a sax will clamp!? into so that you can clean/oil the sax. That's if such a thing exists!

I vaguely remember someone saying they were manufacturing something for this - it may have been John at saxrax - why not contact him and ask.

that looks like quite a contraption. if i ever get into diy sax repair ill keep thet in mind,,, ,and i have been thinking about taking a course as it happens,, i figure ill save a few bob eventually.

Aquatic, I was thinking more along the lines of getting one of those stands and learning how to neuter stray cats with it >:)
