Just a quick update; today, at 6:45 a.m. my daughter Abby gave birth to a baby boy. 8 lbs 4 oz, both doing well. Abby doing especially well, as she gave birth alone and unaided on her bedroom floor! Yes, it was a very quick labour! She phoned us at 6:45 to say she thought the baby was coming, by the time we got there at 6:55 having phoned our friend who is a midwife (she arrived at 6:50 and did the umbilical cord bit), the baby was there - Abby said the baby crowned about 30 seconds after she phoned us.....

Cheers, Bob

Hi Bob,
fantastic news. Which hand was he holding the alto in???
Now for the hard decision. Is he going to be Coleman, Miles, JC, ...................((he might even be Bob!) 🙂

Congrats to you all, thats amazing.

My partner is due to pop another in three weeks time too.

I can guarantee it won't be that quick after the last one took 48hrs and he finally cam out the sun roof!

At least as a grandfather you can hand them back, I feel I'm getting too old for all the nappy stuff, I should be sitting on the porch with a beer watching the sun go down.

As to names........my next boy will be called Des Paulmond, if it was going to be a girl then Mary Gulligan sounds good!

Wishing you, Abby and the new arrival the best start in life you could wish for.

Simon

Hey well done Abby. Congrats to all. Wonderful news :w00t:

Myself and Mrs Sax are expecting our first any day now. Obviously a fertile period in the history of the Breakfast Room!

That's amazing, Jim took about 45 hours and then had to be cut out. He just wanted to stay inside where it was nice!

Congrats all round.

Thanks for all good wishes, we are currently all living under one roof, and baby, mum, brother Tom, Grandma and Grandad are all fine and happy.

I don't know how Abby did it given her track record for having a low pain threshold, but from what I've seen I can recommend having a drug-free home birth, the baby is very alert already.

After toying with various names (Charlie, Pete and Dave were in the running), he has been named Luke.

Having a wonderful time, cheers, Bob

Hi Bob, just popped in at Pete's bequest and saw your news.

Very best wishes and congrats to all.

A very long, happy life to baby Luke.

Saludos,
Ken.

Of course, you're only going to be its custodian until baby Luke is grown up and mature enough to realise that way of the saxophone is the way to true enlightenment......

....and if he doesn't, nevermind eh?

Today has been slightly less hectic, but nevertheless eventful; I am now a (step) great-grandad. At 51. Is this a record?

Doreen's grand-daughter Rachael (another member of the enormous Welwyn family/clan) had a baby boy today, he's called Josh and both are doing great.

Cheers, Bob
