Hi All I am 48 and have just gone and purchased a alto sax yas-23 having never played before and have quickly discovered (after scaring the dog half to death) that lessons might be a good Idea
Welcome Ozjett, just took up sax - again - at 53 but I have three Weimeraners. Was thinking of getting a Yam 23 but will now stick to my Roy Benson alto!
You may find this helpful if you are looking for a teacher - providing you are in the UK: http://www.musicteachers.co.uk/ Though if your username includes the phrase "oz" and you have an older Yamaha then you might not be local!
Hi Oz and welcome. Sorry about the dog but I can recommend an excellent teacher who specialises in teaching dogs the saxophone. It takes a little time for the pooch to get used to standing on it`s hind legs. But I know of a Dachshund who regularily busks in Oxford Street and causes quite a stir with it`s rendering of `How much is that doggie in the Window.` Regds N.
G'day Ozjet
I'm a fellow countryman from way out west. 64 and only started playing 2-3 months ago. The dog will get used to it and/or join it. My best mate Bucky is starting to join in. In better tune than me I might add.
Welcome to the Cafe - my dogs hide when I play the alto, but the bari scares the squirrels right out of the stone wall. Pete Thomas has some great youTube vids, check them out too. Enjoy!
