I live in Cornwall, no, I won't be going! Where is this Half Moon anyway? Does it mean you only show one buttock? What has it to do with saxophones? Does one win a prize? Has someone stolen the rest of the moon-cheese? Have Wallace and Grommit been there and done that (aye it was a 'Grand Day Out'). Have I drunk too much Benedictine with Black Sambuca? I call this cocktail 'The Dark Monk' I have gone off on one. I hope not too many people see this post before I delete it tomorrow.
Nice post Moz - I was tempted to copy it into my post to save it for posterity but I know that alcohol and the internet are a potent mix - hence my ownership of a rather dubious samurai sword bought off ebay whilst p*s*ed and watching Kill Bill!!
I'll be there - You'll recognise me by the copy of The Times, I'll be carrying, and the absolute lack of instrumentation about my lovely body
I will recognise you cos you'll have a coffin size sax case discreetly shoved up yer jumper 🙂
Looking forward to it!

As a matter of interest, Jeff (Semiquaver) and I have tentatively agreed on a meeting of the "Essex, Herts, Cambs and Londony sorts of places" saxophone support and jam ram raiding (or is that Ram Jam Raiding) group for the afternoon of Saturday the 12th. April. Everyone is welcome!!
Nice one Bob, I enjoyed your playing. Gives me something to aim for!!
As you say, Widdly widdly overkill! If only those guitarists knew as much about dynamics as some drummers do..........
I got the feeling that the bloke playing the tele was just out to make some point - not sure what the point was though 😉
As for the Andean throat warbler.... I think it was worth the three quid just to know someone with such huge nuts could walk normally!!  Jeeez.

I don't know if it was the volume I was working against, or what I could hear coming up through the monitors, but my playing sounded really dirty, a lot more than normal when I'm playing at the jazz jams, but... I kinda liked that sound, gave me something to dig into. Probably the sort of sound that would be better on a tenor and honked over some r'n'b. Perhaps I am turning into nachoman.
Jeff, you would have enjoyed last night less than the week before, there was an increase in both the volume and the number of gnarly guitarists. It turned out I was the only one playing sax, and even the singer who had a stack of Lee Oskars didn't blow much harp.
Meanwhile at the Wednesday night rehearsal of the Harlow Concert Band starring Jeff Hardcastle on Tenor (2nd) was a peaceful, quiet and lyrical rendition of the the theme tune to Desert Island Discs, 'The Sleepy lagoon'.
