Hi
It seems that after about 15 minutes of practice my left hand fingers are quite wet, is this normal?

Yes and no. Sometimes water (condensation) comes out of the top keys. It's annoying and sometimes it goes away after a while.

yea its normal,,,but try not to send too much saliva into the sax,,the normal wetness of your tongue should be enough

[color:green]I get this too - but usually only when I'm playing cramped up in the back of the car!!!! I assumed it was spit, and that it was coming out of the key holes because of the angle I'm playing (leaning forward trying to read the music on the front seat!!!)[/color]

I have a theory that salivation varies according to the difficulty of what I'm trying to play. "Giant Steps" would probably kill me through dehydration!

Condensation worst of all in cold weather. This time of year, I do many outside gigs and whilst it's funny to see your breath coming out of the bell, looking like smoke (hey, I'm a really hot player!)when warming the sax up with all tone holes closed, the resultant water isn't - it leaks out of the top holes and when turning the sax upside down to empty it, it's like turning on a tap!
