Saxophones Buying a TJ Raw Alto tomorrow...OK?

Nothing worked for Davesaxboy , even the Mighty Sheppard .. he rolled back to a Yam 82Z and has been happy ever since .......

In-Der-Bin----en make me laugh . I love the way they use the guard from the Budget YAS-275 and fit felt adjusters to it . still looks like a guard from a 275  . £7800 on a custom Alto and it looks like a YAS275 which has had the body etc lacquered vintage brown

Pah!

Key guards are just peripherals

Who could resist the bespoke body, massaged into shape by dedicated artisans who draw on hundreds of years of saxophone know how to produce an exquisite sound that harks from the dawn of time....?

Gotta be worth eight grand of anyone's money

That is probably because there was no café 31 years ago and nobody egging you on to try more >:)

Jx
The internet and this Forum whilst undoubtedly being a great thing for players has perhaps created the GAS phenomenon . 30 odd years back I think it was really more just about sticking the thing in yer gob and trying ones best to overcome the shortcomings, or should that be maximise ones potential LOL.Re. finding the " holy grail"? For me anyway. Thats something within, that most of us will always be seeking for as long as we have the breath to play.

Yup, everyone was in a band back then (up here anyway) and if you needed a sax player, someone bought one and worked out how to play it the hard way, by trial and error

GAS ?? could barely afford it in the American sense of the word to keep my Bike on the road

No, GAS has no on/off knob. 🙁

Yes it has,its your choice.

Ive not owned any BA's or SBA's but the ones I've tried have not been special,i picked my VI out of 15 horns and at least half of them i didn't like,GAS can be an endless journey of chasing your tail but it doesn't have to be,as i have said before find a sax that you like and grow old with it.

Well KARMA has struck!! 😵

The retailer has emailed me to say the model isn't the one I thought it was! It's the older Graffiti logo'd TJ SC not the newer Raw. That's after I'd emailed him photos last week to confirm what it was, and he'd confirmed it was what I thought he thought I thought it was. NO SALE! He's crediting back my payment to my card.

In a way I'm strangely relieved I won't have to choose between three horns. There's no way I'll fork out £1,600 for a "proper" one either!

Ho hum... on we go...

All that for nothing!!! David.......after everyone's efforts you had better get out there and buy something mate!!!! >:)

This will do...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yanagisaw...t=UK_Woodwind_Instruments&hash=item1c46568870
Found one of those for £800, but...
