Trouble is I'm getting weary of fast and furious and Cherokee isn't my favourite tune. It's great to see players at the top of their game going at it like mad but haven't we heard this before a million times? It's technically intimidating and as a jazz guitarist and struggling tenorist it's doubly so, but I wouldn't want to take it on Desert Island Discs. I would rather hear Shorter wringing every ounce of emotion out of one note for eight bars accompanying Joni Mitchell any day. Is it just me?

No it's not just you.
I just thought I'd point it out. For folks to take it or leave it.

For enduring pleasure on Desert Island Discs I think I'd go for Elgar.
