Here's a closeup of the Tenor I replaced my Pink Bently with...

[Bobby G]

What is your new tenor, Alistair? I bet you miss that pink'un, eh? I know my first ever horn will always have a place in my heart.

Cheers, Bob

Bob,

If you look closely at the photo you can just make out......

Reference 36.......

Do I miss the Pink Bently???? No comparison, but as you say, it was my first sax so yes...

Big advantage I find in having a "professional sax" is that when I have a problem, then I know it is me and not the sax, so practice will cure the problem (eventually...)

[tvj]

Here she is!

RH keys including the stud I had fitted, as the E key might be prone to snapping;

Engraving;

F# key and the double-holed octave key as also found on yamaha baris.

I can't comment on the sound yet, as I only bought it 4 days ago, watch this space.

[Bobby G]

Oooooh, I want one ! ! ! Although I probably don't have the space... yet! Anyone want to buy some guitars?

[Calbo]

This is my Hanson SS8 half curved soprano. Really nice tone - it will be even better when I learn to blow it properly.

[Calbo]

Try again a bit smaller

My Hanson SS8 half curved soprano. Sounds really nice.

[Calbo]

And another

[griff136]

Looks very similar to my 1929 buescher tipped bell soprano
how does it play?

[Pete Thomas]

How is your Buescher tipped bell, I've never seen one. I regret getting rid of my old straight Truetone when I recently dug out some recordings and realised how good it was compared to my current sopranos (a curved Conn and straight Borgani)

[griff136]

Hi Pete,

The beuscher tipped bell is a great horn, good intonation and a lovely tone (i use an old ebonite Berg Larsen mouthpiece which seems to work well)

It came from the estate of one of the players of the band the Temperance Seven along with the straight tipped bell alto and a mint (and I mean mint so mint the shop thought it was a new copy) silver Mark VI alto.

I didnt have enough dough top buy all three so just got the sop.

I'll post some pics of it on here along with some of my King saxello once Ive restored it.

The alto and sop are yanis (bronze), the tenor is Yamaha Custom YTS-875. We have had a new addition since that pic a yani bari so I must repost my pics.

Bruce looks lovely
