Animals Shall I keep it as a pet?

I asked him indoors, who has an interest in moths and he says it's probably a pale tussock or possibly a nut tree tussock. Very doubtful it's a hickory as they are not in the UK (unless it's been brought in).

He uses UKMoths | Guide to the moths of Great Britain and Ireland or ‪Facebook‬ for ID's when he catches an unusual one in his moth trap

(I'm not keen on moths and I call him Buffalo Bill after the character in Silence of the Lambs 🙂)

"Hello David,

Thanks for your message. What you found there is a
Pale Tussock Moth caterpillar (Calliteara pudibunda).

There are some details about this caterpillar on the UK Safari
website. Maybe you could take a look.
If you do there's a chance you might click on an advert
that interests you there!
And if you do that Google might pay me a few pennies, so
my family will be able to eat this month.
That would be nice. My family won't starve, and because you
did such a considerate thing you'll get a lovely warm fuzzy
feeling inside. Everybody wins. 😉

Here's the link: Pale Tussock Moths - Dasychira pudibunda - UK Safari

Kind regards,

Gary,

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
