Hi Folks

a pupil of mine has a new YSS 475 (bought in Hong Kong) and when he plays a C# keeping any of the right hand fingers on the keys, it really deadens the tone. The pitch moves by about 5 cents on a tuner, but its mainly the tone that is the problem. If we are playing a duet it almost sounds like a wrong note. Does anyone have any ideas please.

Regards

Dave

Are the right hand fingers on the keys for stabilisation or minimising finger movements in a passage?

The Bb long key will activate and cause the deadening me thinks if any of the keys on the right hand are pressed.

Just a thought???

Hi Simon

The right hand is for a smoother transition from D to c# and back again. Its a standard method of playing so the bis key shouldnt affect it. This is the first time that I have come across this problem. It can also help with the C# tuning as by pressing any combination of the 3 keys has a minute affect on the C# tuning. But this is a real difference in tone as well. Could any of the Techies on here help?

Regards

Dave
