Where to buy parts?

My russian saxophone is missing it's octave key (on the neck), and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for where I could buy a replacement of the octave key and the screw rod.

My original idea was to try to find a crushed neck and salvage an assembly off of that, hoping to make it fit, but those seem relatively difficult to find. Is there anywhere I can order actual modern saxophone parts of this nature?

Check a few repair shops in your town and see if they have any spares that might be made to fit. I know they all keep old parts around, cause they're very hard to find.

Otherwise, it could be possible to have the part made by a competent machinist. Might run up into some bucks that way, though.

Have you tried any other (borrowed) necks on the horn to see if they fit? That would be the easiest way to get an idea if the horn was worth salvaging at all (how does the Russian horn look overall, now that you've got it?)

rs2sensen,
I agree with Ken, some pictures of this horn would be nice. I am, of course, following your similar thread regarding this Russian horn on Saxontheweb.net too. Cheers.

Oops! Sorry about that, I see you have indeed posted photos of this horn elsewhere:

Your Moscow horn looks "strong like bull". 😉

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
