May be it's stupid question - but... can i wach a sax by flow of simple water? Long ago, in my scool orchestra, our teacher said us to wash instruments - and i washed my trumpet. After this the trumpet was sound very well!!

How about sax?

Hi Mikai,
Do not take my advice!
However I will admit to washing my sax under the shower with luke warm water every so often. In forty years it has never harmed any of my horns. I know there are some serious people out there who regard the washing of saxophones with water as sacrilege and downright foolhardy, but it works for me and keeps the sound clean.

You don't really want to get the pads too waterlogged, I used to sometimes bung a bit of water down the bell, then hold the keys closed and sluice it out the top.

I don't think it's a good idea to get the outside wet as rods and springs could get rusty if water gets in the action (which should be kept lightly oiled)

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
