Saxophone beginners Two-toning

I have muscles that open the throat. Nothing relaxed about it. Drop the Adams apple and open up the whole cavity to connect with mouth. I suppose a half century of blowing things and bellowing has had its effect. I used to blow up hot water bottles for a laugh in my youth.

Also learning to raise the soft palate is a good technique.

Sometimes I find some confusion about the word "embouchure".
When jbtsax say it stays the same across the registers, he (likely) refers to lip pressure and position.

Oral cavity, air speed and pressure vary across the registers, at least in my case.
I agree completely. In my teaching "embouchure" means simply how you shape your mouth around the mouthpiece. All of those other elements that were mentioned, I refer to as "voicing".
