Yes I don't like the muddy slushy stuff either. Thanks for the comment Lisa. I made sure I cleaned and dried the sax very very well after that. Though it was an opportunity that I couldn't pass up.

I like a good old thunderstorm too, the only weather I don't like is when you get that drizzle and it's not really raining but it isn't dry either. Heavy rain is great too!

Love the pic of you playing your tenor in the snow, Linky. Is that your Selmer Prelude? (or am I thinking of the wrong person?).

Here in Oldham/North Manchester we had no snow whatsoever, except a derisory few flakes on Friday night. :-(

Good to hear that your back is much better, Bob. Same goes for my Bell's Palsy. It's about 70% better and I can talk pretty much normally now. However, as I found out tonight, it's not cleared up enough for me to be able to play sax :cry:

It is indeed the Prelude Peter, It's getting better and better with every passing day. I'm loving the sounds I'm getting from it (currently using Tone Edge 6* and Java 2.5's) Lovely big ballsy low end and really warm smooth high stuff. I'm going to make some recordings in the studio next week, I'll probably post them up here somewhere.


Really I'm looking for the same horn with a pro action on it and maybe a slightly smoother sound. So far I've found the T902 which hit the bill. I would recommend these horns to anyone wanting a horn for under 1K, they're certainly worth considering.

Have you had the action set up by a tech? It may be quite improveable.

No I haven't actually. I was going to get it checked over and adjusted before I sold it. but it might be worth holding onto if the action can be made to run nicely.

I'm on half term so I could quite easily get it to a repair store this week.

Thanks Pete, for some reason I never thought about getting it tweaked.

I was in for an hour and he fixed a bit of damage and sorted out everything that was obviously wrong for about that. I guess he could have fiddled for another hour to get everything perfect, but the difference he made was very noticeable when I got home.

Nice bloke, honest , and seems to really know his stuff. I originally went to another repairer who charged the same, but didn't fix the underlying problems.

If you want an idea of what 80 or so inches looks like I'll try to past a shot in here from a town in upstate NY that spent last week digging out. And we've got more on the way.

Edit to add that the town of Redfield is now at 147" and counting.
I was out snow shoeing over the weekend. If you love snow, this is heaven.
